Exciting Opportunity for a Sound Designer's Assistant

The Molecularium Project brings together cutting edge animation technology, powerful scientific visualization, creative talent, and a team of 60+ individuals to create an IMAX Dome feature. The Molecularium Project needs to interns to work alongside the Sound Designer to help score and master a multichannel, magical, musical molecular masterpiece.

Are you a digital audio wizard? Join us! We are creating a very sophisticated and very entertaining three-dimensional surround soundtrack to a computer-generated IMAX film.

We are interested in working with someone to assist in the development of new software-based tools for the creation of this and other music/sound projects. Areas of special interest include three-dimensional sound panning, acoustic modeling, convolution reverb, software modeling of analog sound equipment, algorithmic/generative music software, and experimental sonic mayhem in general. We will also be soldering/hacking together real-world electronic instruments for sound design/experimental music.

Work will take place in downtown Troy in a fun, experimental multimedia studio. Some work may take place in collaboration with RPI's Program in Architectural Acoustics.

Experience with creating real-time DSP software is strongly suggested. Preferred platform is Max/MSP or similar.
